Nike has recently made significant progress toward its Move to Zero objectives of having things with zero carbon emissions and zero waste. The Nike VaporMax Men Flyknit 2020 is the company’s most recent groundbreaking shoe. The Flyknit is the most eco-friendly sneaker Nike has ever produced, with at least half of its weight coming from recycled materials.
Each pair of Nike Air VaporMax is visually distinct due to the utilization of a wide variety of upcycled and repurposed materials. But they are all equally lively, thanks to the use of both natural and eco-friendly materials in their construction.
The first full-length Nike VaporMax Air unit has a lower profile than prior VaporMax designs tanks to its construction from around 75% recycled material. Flyknit Yarn, used for the exterior, is composed of 67% post-industrial recycled material. It’s what makes each pair of shoes seem like they’re covered in a rainbow houndstooth pattern. The shoe’s recyclable TPU (hard plastic) toe cap and heel clip have a painterly color-swirl design.
The new VaporMax was also designed with functionality in mind. So they included the Nike FlyEase, a quick-acting lock and release system that can be operated with one hand.
